playing AMT MP3

bought cheap Chinese mp3 player , which is a clone of ipod shuffle 2nd gen from ebay.( not a 1:1 clone shuffling feature is missing / there is 1:1 ipod shuffle clone in ebay) .
ebay tag is 2GB MP3 MP4 Player Mini Clip Metal Case
it cost me 6GBP .

i found following finding were useful.

  • AMT_MP3 can be only formatted in FAT format (not FAT32)
  • to copy mp3 file ,had to use windows media player copy device feature (simple drag and drop mp3 files through windows explorer wont work.. it gives some copy errors)

Hi there I also have a similar MP3 player, bought in Brazil.

Mine comes with a BIOS/CMOS(?) that creates both a pseudo CDROM player and a pseudo USB Disk when pluged in. In the pseudo CDROM, there is a software to be installed in Windows. This software includes a software player called "AMT player" and a driver that allows to drag-and-drop.

With this dirver D&D copy works but is VERY slow (E.g. 88min for 500Mo)!

Under Linux/OpenBSD the device is seen as an usbdisk, and files can be played/copyied from seemlessly. However, as soon as I try copy copy files TO the device, it disconnects itself and resets.

Shitty firmware...
